Upstate Community Giving Campaign
The Community Giving Campaign is Upstate Medical Univeristy’s annual charitable solicitation for all State, Research and MedBest employees for the United Way. It is a convenient way to give to all your favorite charities, including the Upstate Foundation, at one time by check, payroll deduction or credit card (e-Pledge only).
Upstate Foundation Funds
The Upstate Foundation manages more than 1,300 funds. These funds support Upstate students, patients and families, and faculty and staff with fund purposes that encompass education, research, technology, staff development and recognition, and unmet patient needs.
You can designate a gift to an Upstate Foundation fund(s) through the annual Upstate Community Giving Campaign. This is vehicle to use to support an Upstate purpose or project that is meaningful to you. Hamilton White and Elizabeth Blackwell donors may also designate gifts to an Upstate fund. If choosing an Upstate Foundation fund for the Upstate Community Giving Campaign, be sure to add 613 in front of the fund number. 613 is Upstate Medical University’s designated prefix.

2026 Upstate Foundation featured funds
To honor Upstate’s mission to improve the health of the communities we serve through education, research and patient care, the Upstate Foundation has selected featured funds that represent our threefold mission:
- Donations for Discharge Fund (Fund 13565) The purpose of the Donations for Discharge is to purchase new clothing items for patients.
- EVS Food Resource Program Fund (Fund 15205) The purpose of this fund is to support food insecurity issues with Upstate's Environmental Services employees.
Please consider designating your Community Giving Campaign gift to one of the featured funds or select another Upstate Foundation fund, where your gift impacts the health of the entire region, be sure to add 613 in front of the fund number. 613 is Upstate Medical University’s designated prefix.

Friend In Deed Annual Fund #16330 – for unmet patient needs. Donor recognition at Upstate University Hospital lobby and Upstate Community Hospital corridor to east lobby – for donor gifts $100 and up.
Upstate Cancer Center Annual Fund #47625. Donor recognition at Upstate Cancer Center, 1st floor walkway – for donor gifts $100 and up.
