Upstate Towsley Pro-Am

40 Years of Hope and Healing

On Monday, June 24, sixty-three teams golfed through intense winds and intermittent rain as the 40th Anniversary Upstate Towsley Pro-Am teed-off at the Turning Stone Resort Casino.

The weather did not dampen the spirits of sponsors and supporters who came together to raise more than $245,000, a record-breaking effort to support the Upstate Foundation.

With an outpouring of support to honor the tournament’s anniversary milestone and Bill Towsley’s enduring legacy, this was the first time in the tournament’s history that two golf courses were opened for play. To accommodate the largest field of teams ever, thirty-five teams teed-off in a morning flight at Shenendoah and Kaluhyat. Immediately following the morning round, another twenty-eight teams participated in an afternoon flight on Shenendoah.

The day concluded with a moving Anniversary Dinner and Award Ceremony honoring the Upstate Clark Burn Center, this year’s tournament beneficiary. The Clark Burn Center provides compassionate care for adult and pediatric burn survivors and their families spanning thirty-seven counties.

Heartfelt thanks to the extraordinary work of many who contributed to the tournament’s success:

  • Alan Marzullo and Tom Fletcher, tournament co-chairs, and the Towsley Pro-Am committee
  • CNY PGA, longstanding tournament partner
  • Towsley volunteers and Upstate University Police
  • Burn Foundation of CNY
  • Clark Burn Center staff
  • The Towsley Family

And of course, we recognize the generous spirit of our Sponsors and Supporters, featured on the banner and in the photograph album below.

The Upstate Foundation is grateful for your meaningful support this year and over the past four decades!
