- Friend in Deed (#16331) – for patients and families at Upstate University Hospital
For nearly 30 years, the Friend in Deed annual fund has helped Upstate teams do something extraordinary, the ability to say “yes” when patients and families need support the most.
Through Power of Us, your gift helps remove real barriers to care. The Barriers to Discharge Fund, supported by Friend in Deed since 2005, provides critical assistance like transportation, medications, and essential equipment ensuring patients can safely return home.
From gas cards and taxi vouchers to car seats and airfare, these are the moments where your support makes an immediate difference.
- Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital Annual Fund (#10026)
When Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital opened in 2009, it marked a new chapter in how we care for children and families across our region.
Today, through Power of Us, you can continue that impact. Gifts to the Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital Annual Fund support unmet needs across all four units and the Child Life team, bringing comfort, distraction, and joy to young patients during difficult moments.
Recent support has provided remembrance gifts for families and new instruments for music therapy, helping create connection, healing, and even moments of fun.
It’s often said this fund “provides peace to parents and fun to kids.” And that’s exactly what your gift makes possible.
- Friends of Upstate Cancer Center (#47626)
Since opening in 2014, the Upstate Cancer Center has transformed how we deliver cancer care, bringing advanced treatment and compassionate support together under one roof.
Through Power of Us, your gift helps extend that care beyond clinical treatment. Support from the Friends of Upstate Cancer Center has provided cancer screenings for retired Syracuse-area firefighters and chemo care packages for patients on their first day of treatment – small but meaningful gestures that remind patients they are not alone.
