Upstate Suicide Prevention Center – Charitable Giving

Suicide has been a growing concern over the last two decades, especially for youth and young adults. Upstate Medical University has been at the forefront of efforts to reverse this epidemic with creation of an adolescent psychiatry inpatient unit, an intensive outpatient program for adolescents (A-IOP), and the nationally recognized Psychiatry High Risk Program (PHRP), which developed an innovative recovery-based treatment model recognized by the federal government as “a best practice in suicide prevention.” In addition, Upstate has been researching the application and development of cutting-edge treatments for suicidality, such as Brief Information and Contact, Attempted Suicide Short Intervention Program, Zero Suicide screening and safety planning, and Dynamic Deconstructive Psychotherapy. To magnify its outreach, Upstate has become a regional and national training hub for doctors, therapists, and school counselors in suicide prevention and treatment.

In accomplishing all this, Upstate has relied on the generous donations of individuals and institutions. As a doctor at Upstate, I have had the privilege of witnessing the impact of these efforts in saving and transforming countless lives. Please consider partnering with us through a donation to one of the designated funds listed below. Together, we are making a difference, and thank you!
