Dr. Stanley L. Erney brought many opportunities to so many in the Southern Tier health community. His creative, enthusiastic and inventive leadership in the early days of Family Medicine elevated this discipline; provided mentorship to students, residents and graduates; and grew the hospital system, all while caring for patients in our region.
As Dr. Rajesh Dave’ commented at the United Health Services board meeting when Stan was recognized, “The only thing he didn’t do was open heart surgery—but we wouldn’t have been surprised if he had asked.”
