2025 Upstate Foundation Allocation Guidelines
Pediatric General Applications
Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital funds are raised throughout the year through special events, community fundraisers, individual community donors, Upstate employees and corporate donations, including Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ partners. All the funds raised in our region are used to support everyday needs at the Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital and related areas. Funding Eligibility
Any staff member at Upstate Medical University / University Hospital working to improve the health care of children at the Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital and related pediatric areas is eligible to apply for funds.
Use of Funds
Funds may be used to support programs, education, and equipment designed to benefit children and families treated/cared for at Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital.
Funds must be used as stated in your proposal. Any deviation requires prior approval by the Foundation. All expenditures must be made in accordance with Upstate Medical University restrictions, requirements and procedures.
Note: No additional funds allotted for unforeseen expenses due to increased costs, maintenance, shipping, repairs, etc. (a current quote from the manufacturer/supplier is recommended.)
Funding Recognition
Recognition of Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital/Upstate Foundation funding is required and helps ensure that donations continue for this important resource.
If your request is approved, you may be asked to do one (or more) of the following:
- Provide a patient story
- Make a Miracle family referral
- Place the Foundation logo on equipment/sign/publication
- Participate in Impact presentations to corporate partners
- Make retail visits to local & national partners
- Volunteer at Upstate Foundation event supporting GCH
- Speak at community engagements
Please understand that this partnership and support is vital to the success of the Foundation securing funds for future allocations.
Funds allocated in 2025 are available for the period March 1, 2026 through March 1, 2027. Unused funds at the end of the allocation period (March 1, 2027) will be returned to the Upstate Foundation for future reallocation.
Application Information
The General Application is for programs, educational projects or equipment purchases. Allocations, after approval by the Upstate Foundation Board of Directors at the December meeting, will be announced in February, 2026.
Deadline: All general applications must be received no later than October 1, 2025 | 4PM.
