Donations to Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital help provide essential funding for programs and services aimed at enhancing the well-being of pediatric patients, often beyond the traditional health care model.
Patient story
Aryn Aryn has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) due to complications from her premature birth. So when she recently had a runny nose and coughed through the night, Grandma took her to the pediatrician’s office the following morning. Her oxygen levels were dangerously low, so an ambulance was called and off they went to Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital. Aryn was admitted to the intensive care unit following the diagnosis of “super virus,” a condition caused by three separate viruses at the same time.
“Our experience as a family was amazing, from the medical staff who kept us well informed, to the team taking care of Aryn’s patient room, which was spotless. And when Aryn was discharged, she was thrilled to leave in a red wagon,” says Aryn's grandma.
“We are so grateful for the care we received! As a result, Aryn and I are back to singing and dancing, coloring, and making blueberry pancakes.”
