Sandra DiBianco Lecture in Gynecologic Oncology Fund

Sadly, Sandi’s cancer journey ended on July 1, 2022. The Sandra DiBianco Lecture in Gynecologic Oncology Fund is the legacy she leaves behind and will exist in perpetuity at Upstate.

In March 2020, I began my cancer journey. Emergency surgery had uncovered an advanced cancer originating in my ovaries; papillary serous carcinoma had been quietly spreading for several years. After seven surgeries and numerous courses of chemotherapy, I am still standing.

Throughout my battle with this disease, I have been gratified by the knowledgeable, supportive team of gynecologic cancer care specialists at the Upstate Cancer Center. The care and skill offered has been exceptional. Their kindness, compassion and concern are sincerely appreciated, and I credit them with my survival to this point.

Too many friends have had their lives touched by cancer, many by gynecologic cancers. My family and I have provided seed money to establish this annual lecture to bring notable experts in the field of gynecologic oncology to Upstate to provide staff with ongoing education in cutting edge resources, programs and protocols.
