Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital

Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital provides exceptional, comprehensive care to thousands of sick and injured children from its 22-county service area every year. In 2023 the Children’s Hospital again benefited from a tremendous outpouring of support from individual, community, school, corporate and other sources. Last year the Upstate Foundation raised over $2.5 million for pediatric programs and services.

The ONLY Level 1 Trauma Center and dedicated pediatric emergency department in the area, providing total care for every aspect of pediatric injury.

Multiple areas for play with pediatric friendly décor and design: Five play rooms, an interactive virtual EyeClick, solarium, art studio – staffed  with a licensed art therapist, and weekly events and activities offer enrichment and play opportunities for children.

Schoolroom: Two full-time teachers and state-of-the-art technology in the Lukie Frechette Schoolroom are available to help children with their studies.

Pediatric spiritual care and chapel: For meditation and prayer services.

Multi-sensory room: A room that fosters relaxation, quiet and can help children with pain management.

Family-centered care is important.

The hospital is designed to ensure family needs are met. All of the rooms and spaces make being in the hospital for children and families more comfortable, inviting and less intimidating.

Family lounges: These rooms are perfect to support large family gatherings, and have a full kitchen, shower, multiple computers and TV.

Family sleep rooms: Offering the comforts of home – away from home. Designed specifically for families in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, this area has three private sleep rooms, a shower and two laundry facilities.

Family resource center: A highly popular space for patients and families where they can borrow books, movies and video games, conduct research, catch up on work and so much more!
