Friends of Upstate Urology Support Fund (47700): To provide support for the overall needs of the Department of Urology.
Zahi Makhuli Endowed Fund in Urology (67950): To provide funding for patient care, education and research.
Martha Papworth O'Neill Cancer Research Endowment (69405): To support renal cancer research in the Department of Urology.
Prostate Cancer Care and Research Fund (39430): To support prostate cancer patient care, research and education at Upstate.

Grateful patient

Larry was diagnosed with prostate cancer and received several years of treatment in Florida. As the treatments and surgeries unfolded, Larry found his lifestyle hampered by hospital trips every three months and the inconvenience of having three bags attached to his body.

He was referred to Dr. Stephen Blakely at Upstate, who gave him options, one of which was another surgery. “He said it was a big operation,” says Larry. “I said, let’s do it. And we did.”

Larry sent Dr. Blakely a postcard six months after the surgery. It read, “I just returned from a 15-day cruise to Hawaii, so I think I’m doing okay!”
