Voice of PALS

The Voice of PALS (Persons with ALS) fund supports the ALS Clinic at Upstate Medical University and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis research. Throat muscles are affected at onset of disease in about twenty percent of ALS patients. This leads to early impairment in loss of abilities to speak and often associated with a delay in diagnosis.

Grateful patient Cliff Maus, a retired Canandaigua police officer, opened this fund at the Upstate Foundation for ALS research – to spread awareness and support for the care of patients suffering from a devastating disease in our community.
