Debbie’s Brain Cancer Research Fund

Debbie Gregg of Cazenovia established Debbie’s Brain Cancer Research Fund at the Upstate Foundation in honor of her doctor, Thomas E. Coyle, MD, and his dedication to the field of neuro-oncology and brain cancer research.

In January 2008, Debbie was diagnosed with anaplastic astrocytoma brain cancer, a rare, aggressive tumor that accounts for two percent of all brain tumors. After a courageous four year battle, Debbie passed away in August 2012 at home with family and friends by her side.

Debbie’s family continues to raise funds in memory of Debbie through various fundraisers. To date over $133,877 has been raised to support brain cancer research at Upstate Medical University.
