As a graduate, you are automatically a member of the alumni association, joining an accomplished group of more than 4,300 members living and working in 49 states across the country.

Since its inception in 1992, the Health Professions Alumni Association has awarded more than 460 scholarships.  The association also provides support for faculty enrichment, continuing education, and other needs of College students, faculty and alumni.  You may remember receiving your first white coat as a gift from the alumni association.

Assistant Professor in Blood Banking

SUNY Upstate Medical University is seeking qualified applicants for a 12-month tenure track position in the Clinical Laboratory Science Department. Responsibilities include development and delivery of lecture and laboratory courses in Blood Banking to include coordinating clinical rotations, planning curricula and oversight of student capstone projects. Participation in scholarly and professional activities pertinent to the field required. Other responsibilities include advising selected student in the department and participation in departmental faculty meetings, student recruitment activities and program accreditation.

Naming of the Stephen P. Mikles and Joseph G. Sorbello Room will honor Sorbello’s dedicated service to Upstate’s Respiratory Therapy program, as well as the contributions as a national leader in the profession by his fellow 1970s alumnus Steve Mikles. Proceeds will support the Respiratory Therapy Education program, primarily with equipment needs.
